Becamex Binh Duong became the second Vietnam club besides Hanoi T&T being disqualified for the AFC Champions League 2015’s final rounds, after losing to China’s Shandong Luneng on Tuesday.

The host team performed quite well at Go Dau Stadium in the first half against Shandong Luneng, champion of both the 2014 Chinese FA Cup and the 2015 Chinese FA Super Cup.
Good coordination among Becamex players blocked all attacks by Shandong Luneng while Moses, Oseni and Abass of the host team pressed on Shandong’s goalkeeper Wang Dalei.
In the first half, Shandong Luneng had only one dangerous shot in the 37th minute. But this free kick by Zheng Zheng was successfully blocked by goalkeeper Thien Esele.
Shangdong Luneng then took the lead with a close target shot by Wang Yongpo in the 46th minute.
Becamex Binh Duong leveled the score only a minute later after Oseni got a pass from Cong Vinh to defeat Wang Dalei.
Becamex Binh Duong continued to press on Shandong Luneng’s goal and the host team took the lead in the 57th minute with a header by Moses.
Shandong Luneng again leveled the score only five minutes later with a goal by Yang Xu.
Yang Xu, who was sent to the field in the second half, then scored the second goal with a header in the 83rd minute, securing a 3-2 win for Shandong Luneng in Group E.
Earlier on February 17, Hanoi T&T was crushed by Seoul FC 7-0 in a Group H match in Seoul, where Vietnamese players struggled in the 3 degree Celsius cold.
The AFC Champions League is an annual continental club football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). This year’s event sees the competition of 32 teams, divided into eight groups.

Each group will compete under the round robin format, and the first two teams of each group will progress.

The group stage will last until May 6 to select 16 teams to compete in the knockout phase from May 19 to November 21.
