In spite of having not been seeded players, that 5 best teams will be selected for World Cup 2015 competition as well as draw results of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2014, Vietnamese women’s team will have chance to vie for a world cup. Draw results show hosts Viet nam will play Australia, Japan and Jordan in group A. China will take on the Republic of Korea, Thailand and Myanmar in Group B. Games will happen from May 14th to May 25th, 2014 at Thong Nhat stadium ( Ho Chi Minh City) and Go Dau stadium ( Binh Duong City). 4 best teams of two groups will be selected to the semi-finals and win tickets to world cup 2015. Moreover, two teams at third position will play-off to win the last ticket to Canada.

According to draw results, Viet Nam women’s team will face in turn Jordan ( May 14th), Japan ( May 16th) and Australia ( May 18th) at Thong Nhat stadium. Coach Tran Van Phat and his players just need third position of group A. Because two higher position mostly belong to Japan and Australia. Moreover, Viet Nam would probably play -off against Myanmar or Thailand. Because Republic of Korea and China are strong opponents. If Viet Nam won one of them, dream of a world cup will come true.

Viet Nam was not seeded players but hosting advantages will motivate them to world cup. However she also believed that chances are equal to all. Then we should wait until 90 minutes of games ended.

Mr Ngo Le Bang-general secretary of VFF shares his opinion that Vietnamese women’s football team is having chances to build up Viet Nam football’s history. Nevertheless, we should have good preparation for skills and physical strength.
