The Italy interrnational has decided to accept the San Siro side’s offer and will continue his career at the Rossoneri

AC Milan have announced that they have completed the signing of Mattia Destro from Roma on loan until the end of the season after the striker passed his medical, with a view to a permanent transfer for a fee believed to be in the region of €16 million.

The Rossoneri were desperate to add some fresh blood to their attack following their disappointing performances in the first half of the season and CEO Adriano Galliani already revealed earlier this week that they were closing in on Destro.

The 23-year-old has now completed his move to Filippo Inzaghi’s side, resulting in a return to Milan for a player who started his career in the Inter youth academy and also wore the jerseys of Genoa and Siena before joining Roma in July 2012.

The striker had since scored 24 goals in 57 Serie A appearances for the Stadio Olimpico side, but he was mainly warming the bench this term and has therefore been allowed to move on.

Destro will have to battle it out with attackers such as Jeremy Menez and Giampaolo Pazzini for the No.9 position at Milan.
