In the moring of Jun 6^th the opening ceremony of Ho Chi Minh City Association Football mini tournament- 2013 Thai Son Nam cup was taken place at Tao Dan pitch- dist.1. This tournament aims to encourage sporting movements among journalists in Ho Chi Minh City, furthermore this is also a meaningful activity in celebrating 88 years of Vietnam Journalism Day ( 21/6/1925-21/6/2013 ). The tournament gathers 16 teams representing local and national news agencies in the ceremony.

Many popular Ho Chi Minh journalists such as mr Nguyen Van Phung deputy chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, mr Duong Vu Thong permanent member of Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, mr Ho Nguyen chief author of  Sai Gon Giai Phong Sports newspaper, mr Le Van Phu Le Van Phu head of sports department of the Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV) and representatives from Ho Chi Minh Football Federation- mr Nguyen Quoc Hung had attended the opening ceremony.

HCM sports journalist club, CA HCMC, Tuoi Tre, HTV, VTV, AVG had been eagerly practicing to prepare for this tournament for few months. Besides exciting games, there were also other entertainment activities with the ball which is supported by Adidas and Geru Sport, the opening ceremony was a really interesting day. In group A, HCM sports journalist club with its strength had overwhelmed Nguoi Lao Dong 7-2, HTV and Thong Tan Xa drew 3-3, the present champion CA TPHCM won 4-1 over Phap luat easily and Sai Gon Giai Phong was beaten 5-1 by Tuoi Tre.

In group C, an extremely dramatic match between VOH and VTV, youth and uniform had taken VOH to 2-0 lead. However, the the turning point of the match occurred when 54 -year-old veteran, VTV’s Quoc Thang had been sent in and scored two consecutive goals which set a comeback 3-2 win for VTV against VTV . The remaining matchs between Khang Quang Do and AVG ended with 2-2 draw, Thanh Nien won 5-3 over Phu Nu, Sai Gon Tiep Thi was beaten 3-6 by Thoi Bao Kinh Te Sai Gon. This tournament will end on June 15th.
