The former England star was a team-mate of the Frenchman’s during his spell at the Bernabeu and has offered his compliments to the victorious rookie coach
David Beckham has sent his congratulations to Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, who won the Champions League at his first attempt with Los Blancos on Saturday.
Zidane took charge of the Bernabeu side earlier this season after Rafa Benitez was sacked and led Madrid to their 11th European Cup triumph in Milan as his side overcame city rivals Atletico 3-1 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra time.
Posting on his Instagram account, the ex-England captain, who was also a team-mate of Zizou’s at Real, said: “Congratulations my friend this couldn’t of [sic] happened to a nicer and more passionate person… Hala Madrid”
