The 37-year-old is hoping to move into an ambassadorial role with Juventus, where he spent the best years of his playing career
Former France and Juventus star David Trezeguet has confirmed that he will hang up his boots.
The 37-year-old made his name at Monaco during the 1990s and his form won him a move to Turin, where he spent a whole decade, in 2000.
Since leaving Serie A, he enjoyed brief spells in La Liga and the United Arab Emirates before playing for River Plate and Newell’s Old Boys in Argentina.
More recently, he has plied his trade in the Indian Super League, with FC Pune City and he is now hoping to return to Juve in an ambassadorial role.
“Before going out to play in India, I had the idea to move on,” he told L’Equipe.
“The idea is that I will participate in the promoition of Juventus’ image in the world. The France team still has a place in my heart.”
Trezeguet was part of his nation’s 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000-winning teams, won two Ligue 1 titles and two Scudetti.
