Miura said Son was really a potential player of Viet Nam.

Some players who performed well at the Asian Games last year and maintained their peak performance at the domestic tournament, such as Mac Hong Quan (Quang Ninh), Nguyen Huy Hung (Quang Nam) and Vo Huy Toan (SHB Da Nang), also have been selected.

The players will start training on May 5, and will have a friendly international match with South Korea on May 9.

Coach Le Thuy Hai to farewell B-Binh Duong

After having asked for retirement many times, Coach Le Thuy Hai’s request was unaccepted. However, in the night after losing 1-3 in Shandong Luneng ( china) of AFC champions League, management board of B-Binh Duong unexpectedly accepted Coach Hai’s retirement. This is the 6th time Coach Hai and B-Binh Duong has changed their situation. HLV Lê Thụy Hải (trái) chia tay B-Bình DươngThe contradiction between Coach Hai and Binh Duong’s management board has happened for a while, his leaving nevertheless is also a surprise to all.
Management board do not agree with Hai’s shocked statement in the beginning of season, but his success in leading team cause them shut their mount.
In AFC Champions League B-Binh Duong does not play well that’s the reason caused Coach Hai’s problem. Because B-Binh Duong has spent much money so that they could have a good result this time.
Moreover, Coach Hai continued giving shocked statement about Coach Miura, U-23 national team, U-19 HAGL,…

The central region team are expected to have an interesting tournament, especially after it defeated title favourites Ha Noi T&T last week.
“I am a little surprised with our position. However, it is a logical surprise,” said Coach Vo Dinh Tan. “Khanh Hoa are a united team with young players, who have played together for years, and some foreign players, who have helped us stay with the V.League 1.”
“In fact, we are nothing compared with other teams, but we know how to be powerful as a united team,” Tan added.
“We have carefully worked on our physical fitness and helped players perform with each other in harmony. We work out for every match and spend time studying our rivals. We are always loyal to the counter-attack style and players know that they must follow team discipline and the coach’s strategy,” he said.
This playing style has helped them tie 1-1 against Thanh Hoa, who stood third last season during the fourth round. Later they drew a match with former champions Song Lam Nghe An 2-2, and in the ninth round they tied with two-time winners SHB Da Nang.
Sanna Khanh Hoa have set their own record for not losing nine matches in a row. This weekend, Khanh Hoa will play against Quang Ninh Coal, who are currently in the third place.
Quang Ninh yesterday received a strong push after being promised six I Phone 6s from their fan club, which will be given to the players that showcase the best performance today.
In another activity, Ha Noi T&T will host the young team Hoang Anh Gia Lai, who landed in the capital city some days ago.
Despite being considered one of the strongest squads, T&T are struggling in the middle of the rankings table.
They are currently placed at the ninth spot with only 10 points, just two steps higher than their rivals, who are also trying to bag more points to avoid exiting the competition.
The team have some aged players, including 33-year-old goalkeeper Duong Hong Son and defenders Nguyen Hong Tien and Nguyen Van Bien, who turned 30 this year.
They will have to face Nguyen Cong Phuong, Nguyen Tuan Anh and Van Toan, who are skilful and known for their rapid speed.
Among T&T’s advantages is that they are home to Golden Ball winner Pham Thanh Luong and Bronze Ball holder Nguyen Van Quyet.
The team are also placing its trust in strikers Gonzallo Damian Marronkle and Hoang Vu Sam Son, who could make use of their height against Hoang Anh Gia Lai, who are not that good with high balls.
Another reason to root for the hosts winning is that Hoang Anh Gia Lai have lost all of their matches, while playing on away grounds.
With two wins and two draws after 10 matches, they are going to emerge as the worst Hoang Anh Gia Lai team in history.
In other stadiums, Song Lam Nghe An will welcome Can Tho; SHB Da Nang are to entertain Dong Thap, Thanh Hoa will visit Quang Nam; Dong Nai are awaiting Dong Tam Long An and the defending champions Binh Duong will face Hai Phong.

Miura selects coaching team

The Viet Nam Football Federation (VFF) has invited Nguyen Thanh Son to be an assistant to national team manager Toshyia Miura.

Son is acting coach of the V.League 1 champions Becamex Binh Duong.

Apart from Son, the VFF has also invited Tran Cong Minh, former national defender, to be one of the assistant coaches and Nguyen Quoc Tuan, of Hoang Anh Gia Lai, as the goalkeeper coach. They are to work for the U23 team.

The Japanese manager will also take charge of the national team where he will be assisted by Ngo Quang Sang, coach of Dong Tam Long An, keeper trainer Nguyen Duc Canh and Norimatsu Takashi, manager of the national women’s squad.

The U23 players will compete at the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore in June. They will gather for training on May 5. Meanwhile the national side will take part in the World Cup qualifier, which is also the Asian Cup qualifying round, starting on June 11.

Binh Duong has fourth Asian loss

Becamex Binh Duong suffered their fourth loss at the Asian Football Confederation Champions League yesterday, April 22, with Shandong Luneng beating them 3-1 in Jinan City, China.

On the ball: Defender Dang Van Robert of Becamex Binh Duong (right) vies for a ball against a Shandong Luneng player during their group match on February 24. In yesterday game, Binh Duong lost 1-3 to Shandong Luneng.

The Vietnamese champions have no more hope of advancing to the next round of the tournament while Shandong Luneng kept alive their hopes of remaining contention for the knockout stages.
Binh Duong began brightly and took the lead in the 20 minute through captain Nguyen Trong Hoang.
Stung, Shandong roared back and Yang Xu headed home the equaliser on the 27th minute before goals after the hour mark from Junior Urso and Yang gave the scoreline an accurate reflection of their dominance.
Although Binh Duong faded in the second period, they were on top for the opening spell and Shandong defender Dai Lin almost inadvertently put the visitors ahead inside 10 minutes after he mis-kicked a cross towards his own net needing Wang Dalei to palm the ball over.
Wang was called into action again shortly after, this time keeping out Michal Nguyen’s powerful header from Trinh Quang Vinh’s cross with an athletic save.
But the Chinese goalkeeper could do little to prevent Binh Duong’s opener.
Errors from both Dai Lin and then Li Songyi saw the ball break to Hoang inside the penalty area, and the striker coolly slotted the ball through the legs of Wang.
Seven minutes later, Shandong found their leveller. Brazil international Diego Tardelli curled in an inviting cross from the right that Yang buried past Esele with a bullet header.
After the interval, the Chinese Super League side looked intent on taking control of the match and went in front through their Brazilian duo.
Tardelli’s pass across goal looked to be over-hit but found compatriot Junior Urso making a late run at the far post and he sent the ball goalwards past Esele and defender Au Van Hoan.
Shandong’s advantage was stretched to two goals just eight minutes later as Yang Xu netted his sixth goal of the AFC Champions League campaign from close-range with the ball ricocheting off both Esele and defender Pham Minh Duc into the net.
In another Group E match, goals from Brazilian Eduardo and Kosuke Taketomi helped Kashiwa Reysol overcome former winners Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors 3-2 and claim the top spot.
They secured a berth in the round of 16 with a game to spare.
The Japanese side had the better of the opening stages and went in front inside 10 minutes through a fine header from Eduardo. The 2013 semi-finalists went into half-time with a 3-0 advantage after two goals from Taketomi and forward Christiano.
South Korea’s Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors came out stronger after the interval and scored twice through captain Lee Dong-gook – who is now all-time leading scorer in the AFC Champions League with 27 goals.
The last matches of the group will be played on May 6.

Hernandez late show ends Real’s Atletico jinx

Javier Hernandez’s late strike kept Real Madrid on course for a record-extending 11th European Cup crown with a 1-0 win over 10-man Atletico Madrid in a tense quarter-final at the Bernebau on Wednesday.

y1G6qrMg

The first leg ended 0-0 and the tie appeared to be heading for a first goalless draw after two legs in Champions League knockout history until James Rodriguez slipped a pass through to Cristiano Ronaldo in the 88th minute.

The Portugal forward unselfishly squared for Hernandez and the Mexican striker stroked the ball past Atletico goalkeeper Jan Oblak to seal a 1-0 aggregate victory, Real’s first win over Atletico in eight matches this season.

It was a bitter blow for Diego Simeone’s men, who went toe to toe with the team that beat them in last year’s final until playmaker Arda Turan was dismissed for a second booking 14 minutes from time and Hernandez applied the killer blow.

“It was my turn to score but this is for everyone,” an emotional Hernandez, who is on loan at Real from Manchester United, told with Spanish television.

“Atletico are a worthy opponent,” added the 26-year-old, who was playing only due to an injury to Karim Benzema. “Thank God, we were the worthy winners.”

Real coach Carlo Ancelotti, missing injured regulars Gareth Bale, Benzema and Luka Modric, started with Hernandez up front with Ronaldo and centre back Sergio Ramos pushed forward into a defensive midfield role.

Seeking to become the first team to retain the trophy in the Champions League era, Real had the upper hand in terms of possession and chances in a cagey first half.

Ronaldo forced a good save from Oblak with a 32nd-minute free kick before racing through with a clear site of goal a minute before halftime.

Oblak was again equal to the challenge, racing out to block Ronaldo’s fierce shot and deflect the ball away for a corner.

Real threatened immediately at the start of the second period when Isco threaded a pass through for Hernandez but he scuffed his shot wide of the far post.

Atletico hopes suffered a massive blow when Arda picked up a second yellow for a foot-up challenge on Ramos and he was distraught as he trudged off to a cacophony of whistles.

The draw for the semi-finals is on Friday, with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Juventus joining Real in the pot.
