Thái Sơn Nam meets Thai Port in final
Thái Sơn Nam FC ensured their berth in the final of the ASEAN Football Federation Futsal Club Championship in Myanmar.
The Vietnamese team yesterday secured an impressive win against Myanmar-MIC FC of the host 4-1 and will play Thai Port FC again in the final on Saturday.
Thái Sơn Nam dominated from the beginning with more than 20 shoot-outs, with two of them being converted into goals by Ngô Ngọc Sơn in the fifth minute and Nguyễn Minh Trí in the 11th.
MIC’s goalkeeper Kyaw Htet Aung blocked the rest.
The hosts changed to power play tactics in the second half but could only grab a goal in the 38th minute after conceding two more goals. Sơn put his name on the score board for the second time together with Trần Văn Vũ.
It is the second time that Thái Sơn Nam are to play Thai Port in the tournament. In their first meeting, Thái Sơn Nam lost 0-4 on Monday.
On the women’s side, defending champions Thái Sơn Nam District 8 FC failed to protect their crown, after losing 3-4 to Thailand-Khon Kaen FC.
Thái Sơn Nam District 8 were 3-1 up and just five minutes away from claiming their place in the final but their opponents had other plans and blasted three goals to celebrate a remarkable victory and sent Thái Sơn Nam District 8 out of the final.
For their incredible efforts, Khon Kaen will face Indonesia-Jaya Kencana Angels in the final on Saturday. The Angels had earlier turned in a powerful performance against Thai-Bangkok FC to win 9-2.

Thái Sơn Nam District 8 equalled by Bangkok FC
Defending champions Thái Sơn Nam District 8 FC were held 1-1 by Bangkok FC in their third match at the ASEAN Football Federation Futsal Club Championship yesterday in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar.
The Vietnamese winners have seven points and secure their place in the women’s final match.
Thái Sơn Nam District 8 went into the lead just two minutes after the start through Nguyễn Thị Thành. But their hopes of reeling in more goals did not quite work out as Bangkok FC fought back. They landed two penalties in the dying minutes, but Sawitree Mamyalee and Treeratchada Boonpload, both failed to score.
The pace picked up in the second half with play quickly switching from end to end. Both had their chances but Bangkok’s Sawitree did not miss her second penalty and levelled the score.
In the first match of the day, Khon Kaen FC, also from Thailand, defeated W FC of the host 3-1 to take the second position in the ranking with six points.
The two leading teams will play each other in the final group round match today.
The top two clubs at the end of the group stage qualify for the final while the third and fourth placed teams in the standings will slug it out in the third-fourth place playoff.

Thai Son Nam Futsal club close to finals’ ticket game after having defeated Black Steel Club (Indonesia),
Thai Son Nam futsal club have had their third game in AFF Futsal Club Championship 2016 against Black Steel club from Indonesia. In this game, Thai Son Nam have excellently defeated opponents 7-2.
The Black Steel club is also a tough opponent. Their players are quick, strong and clever that caused Thai Son Nam players in troubles. Because Thai Son Nam players were not tottally refilled after game against Thai Port.
In 9th minute, after having been under pressing, Thai Huy scored 1-0 for Thai Son Nam however one minute later, Black Steel got game to the start with drawing goal 1-1.
Entering the second half, both played with high speed and Artur Yunusov scored for Thai Son Nam 3-1, then game continued with goals from Long Vu, Duc Hoa, Artur . In 34th minute, score was shortened to 2-5. However it was quickly raised up to 7-2. And this is also the final result.
Thai Son Nam is standing at second position after Thai Port. In July 14th Thai Son Nam club will face the host MIC FC.
