Former football star Pham Huynh Tam Lang has died on the way to hospital after suffering a stroke in the moring of June 2nd. He left a numerous sadness for others.

Pham Huynh Tam Lang has suffered heart attack and rheumatic for a long time. He was born in February 14th, 1942 in Go Cong ( Tien Giang).

Pham Huynh Tam Lang was considered as the best midfielder in Petrus Ky school ( Le Hong Phong school at the present). In 1985, he was called up Vietnam national Football team. Then he quickly persuaded teammates and manager that he’s deserved as Vietnam national football team’s captain. He helped his team win Merdeka cup in Malaysia in 1966.

He was the only one once invited to play for the Asian star’s team in 1967. After 1975, Pham Huynh Tam Lang played for Sai Gon Port the he retired to start coaching career.

After having trained in Germany, he lead Sai Gon Port to four Champions titles of V-League : 1986, 1993, 2002 and two national Cup 1997, 2002.

His leaving rose up mourn in every players’ heart as well as football fans.

Major milestones of Pham Huynh Tam Lang’s football career. 

-Born: 14/2/1942 in Go Cong ( Tien Giang) Lang played football soon at school time.

– 18 years old: He was invited to play for southern team and quickly gained official shot.
– In 1966: Tam Lang replaced captain Nguyen Ngoc Thanh and helped Vietnam to win Merdeka cup. Then he was also invited to Asian stars’ team together with Do Thoi Vinh.

– 1981: He was trained in Germany and finished course excellently.
-He lead Sai Gon Port to four Champions titles of V-League : 1986, 1993, 2002 and two national Cup 1997, 2002. The he retired when Sai Gon port up grade.
-He was presented medal for his contribution to Vietnam football as well as area’s football by AFC.
-In 2013 he received prize of Fair play which was hold by a news agency.

After having defeated Ben Tre 4-2 in final game, host Ho Chi Minh City 1 crowned first title of convincingly the 15th football tournament for underprivileged children- Hoa Sen tole cup 2014.

This tournament has happened for one week, finally, at 7th military Zone  gymnasium, Ho chi minh city, the 15th football tournament for underprivileged children has been closed on May 31st. 8 Teams over country have joined the closing ceremony. Ben Tre player were supposed to make difference because they has come back against Ha Noi in the semi final.

The host Ho Chi Minh 1 received many supports from fans. Two teams competed excitingly with consecutive beautiful skills. HCMC’s Phi Long took the advantages to opened for host in 15th minute, then he scored one more goal in 19th minute.

Ben Tre players decided to play highly in the second half, therefore they had equalized 2-2 from Hoang Bi and Quang Truong for all efforts. Coach Bao Trung decided to let Phi Long lower, and Chi Thanh raised highly. Chi Thanh was the one who scored two consecutive goals and set 4-2 win for Ho Chi Minh City.

In remained game, the re-educational school no.5 has defeated Ha Noi 1-3.

Ho Chi Minh won first champion and 30 million VND, the award for the second one Ben Tre was 25 million VND, and re-educational school No.5 received 20 million for third title. Ha Noi also received 15 million VND.
