Không vượt qua được Singapore, U-23 Việt Nam gặp khó khăn trong việc giành vé vào Bán kết

Failing to defeat U-23 Singapore, U-23 Viet Nam will face difficulty to win ticket to the semi finals

U-23 Viet Nam played confidently against U-23 Singapore, especially after the big victory over U-23 Brunei in the first match of group B. Ha Minh Tuan’s created attack from the left wing, however ball went to one side off bar.

In minutes of overwhelming, U-23 Viet Nam’s attacks weren’t quick enough to surprise U-23 Singapore. Therefore, they showed to be weak against attack of Coach Aide Iskandar’s men.

Viet Nam’s defender Ngoc Duc confused while trying to kick the ball away. He then gave the ball to Suhaimi whose shot touched defender Pham Manh Hung and changed the direction of the ball. Goal keeper Tran Buu Ngoc could do nothing as he watched the ball entering the net.

After this goal against, U-23 Viet Nam established attacks toward opponents, however Van Quyet, Manh Dung, Van Thang, Vu Minh Tuan, Ha Minh Tuan fail to find to U-23 Singapore’s net.

Entering the second half, U-23 Viet Nam continued to show their luckiness to find goal keeper Izwan Mahbud’s net. Viet Nam’s attacks were broken. Coach Phuc’s change to let Phi Son in, Van Quyet out replaced by Hong Quan weren’t accurate decision.

Manchester United boss Moyes eyes Champions League glory

The Premier League holders beat Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 on Tuesday night to secure top spot in Group A, and the Scot is keen to build momentum as he targets European silverware.

349424_heroa

Manchester United manager David Moyes insists a club of the Red Devils’ stature must aim to win the Champions League this season.

United went into Tuesday’s tie against Shakhtar Donetsk needing only a draw to secure top spot in Group A, but went one better as Phil Jones struck in the 67th minute to earn a 1-0 win.

Moyes is adamant a club of United’s size needs to be aiming to win every trophy available and was relieved to overcome Shakhtar following a poor first-half performance.

A club like Manchester United has to be trying to win the trophy, that’s their job,” the Scot told ITV. “You have to get better as the tournament goes on. It’s a tough competition, a hard one, but we will take it one game at a time.

“As a club we could be considered one of the favourites, but as a team we have to improve if we are going to keep progressing. Hopefully we have given ourselves the best chance by winning the group.

“We wanted to top the group and we have. The win helps us, improves our form. We didn’t play well for 30 minutes and they [Shakhtar] had two or three opportunities.

“In the first half they had the better chances. In the second half it was much better. A loss would have been disappointing. I was tough with them [United’s players] at half-time but we needed to be. We need to win games.”

Jones acknowledged that United, who are currently ninth in the Premier League, were lacklustre in the first period, but noticed a big improvement after half-time and praised the impact of the fans at Old Trafford.

“We needed to show a bit more desire [in the first half], a bit more belief in our performance and we did that eventually,” said the goalscorer.

“In the first half we were shaky and tentative but in the second half we got to grips with things and created more chances.

“People have opinions [about the club’s start to the season], but the fans were excellent tonight. They stuck by us and hopefully we can start a run and kick on from here.”

Jones’ solitary goal put United through

Phil Jones’ goal brought David Moyes relief and ensured Manchester United’s tortuous week ended by getting a seeding for the Champions League knockout round draw.

454921171

After 280 minutes without a goal, United finally found the net when Jones delivered a powerful finish to Robin van Persie’s corner.
It was enough to see off a dangerous Shakhtar Donetsk outfit, who had more shots than their hosts, on and off target, but failed to condemn Moyes to a third straight home defeat.
A scrappy, stuttering and, at times, unconvincing performance will not be enough to silence United’s critics – in his half-time analysis on ITV former skipper Roy Keane declared Ashley Young to be not good enough to play for his former club.
However, in what has become a miserable debut campaign on the domestic front, Moyes at least has a European tie to look forward to next spring, with many of the tournament heavyweights being avoided when the last 16 draw is made next Monday courtesy of them finishing top of Group A, unbeaten.
And a reminder that Jones’ only other European goal came against Basle two years ago in a game that saw United exit the competition at the group stage should at least check those who have conveniently forgotten life under Sir Alex Ferguson was not always straightforward.
Whilst Moyes said in the build-up he took complete responsibility for United’s downturn in fortunes, his players have been the ones out on the pitch.
As has often been said, they won the Premier League by 11 points last season, so their collective ability should be enough to shoulder some of the burden themselves.
When Jones surged onto Rafael’s return pass and brought a close-range save out of Andriy Pyatov it did seem United were in the mood to at least maintain their impressive European form.
Pretty soon though, the anxiety that has enveloped them during those back-to-back home losses to Everton and Newcastle returned.
Taison’s through-ball presented Alex Teixeira with a clear run at goal and his flick rolled narrowly wide of the far post.
Though Adnan Januzaj did bring a decent save out of Pyatov, it was the start of an extended period of Shakhtar pressure, in which United, clearly lacking in confidence, struggled to string more than a couple of passes together.
A lone cry of “get a midfield in there” could be heard about the general groans and not even Wayne Rooney curling a free-kick into the side-netting could counter the growing feeling United were in perilous danger of falling behind.
Fred should have turned that fear into reality after Teixeira had robbed Rio Ferdinand, who had a shocker, but despite the ball being rolled invitingly into his path, the shot lacked power and did not threaten the home goal.
A couple of good opportunities for Young came and went.
The winger lobbed Pyatov with the first but as the ball dropped narrowly wide, Young would have known if he had elected to square for Rooney, the United skipper would have had a tap-in.
Young also drove wide after collecting Jones’ crossfield pass, prompting Keane’s latest critical assessment of his former club during his half-time analysis.
Rafael blocked a Vyacheslav Shevchuk effort at the start of the second-half before the Shakhtar midfielder saw another attempt flick off the outside of a post after taking a slight deflection off Jones.
In response, Giggs meekly fired at goal following decent approach play by Young and Shinji Kagawa. Young’s long-range curling effort to the far post dropped narrowly wide and Rooney’s ambitious chip brushed the roof of the Shakhtar net.
Van Persie’s introduction brought added potency to the home attack and the Dutchman was a key figure in their opener, albeit by taking the corner Jones lashed home.
The relief that rippled round the stadium as Jones’ volley hit the net was palpable and whilst Shakhtar did try to respond, they were the ones who lacked conviction as Bayer Leverkusen’s win away to Real Sociedad dumped them into the Europa League.

Real brush past Copenhagen

Real Madrid end a fine Champions League group-stage campaign as they won 2-0 at FC Copenhagen on Tuesday – even if Cristiano Ronaldo did miss a penalty in the process.

454920707

Carlo Ancelotti’s men have topped Group B by some distance and finish with 16 points from 18 after a record-breaking night.
Luka Modric’s fine opener was the 31st successive European game in which they have scored, setting a new competition record, before Ronaldo made it safe after the break.
The Ballon D’Or winner-in-the-making had a chance to make it two late on from the spot but those in the Danish capital were stunned as the normally-faultless frontman’s effort was saved.
The loss, although expected, leaves Copenhagen out of both the Champions League and Europa League, even before Galatasaray and Juventus replay their abandoned game.
It had been rumoured that Madrid would allow Ronaldo to start on the bench with top spot already in the bag, but his appearance in the starting line-up came as no surprise either.
What did cause some shock, though, was that it was Copenhagen who started on the front foot.
Piette Bengtsson mishit wide after a fine counter, before Christian Bolanos drilled a shot into Nacho.
Madrid came into things after that and Karim Benzema drew a save from Johan Wiland, before the same men tangled again to the same result.
The pressure continued to build and with 25 minutes on the clock Modric scored, turning outside the area, fading and then curling in a brilliant right-footer.
Ronaldo was keen to get in on the act but found Wiland in the way of a similar effort, before being denied by the impressive stopper again.
Gareth Bale was also frustrated by Wiland, as was Xabi Alonso as the traffic became one-way.
The interval did little to stop that and Wiland produced a fine near-post stop to thwart Ronaldo again, but the Portuguese got his reward in the 48th minute.
Marcelo’s deep cross was nodded down by Pepe and Ronaldo did the rest for Real’s 800th goal in European football.
An 801st nearly followed but Nacho was called offside as he tapped in, before the home side remembered how to attack as Igor Vetokele shot over from close range.
Ronaldo typically showed greater accuracy at the other end, although only against the post after a smart run, before letting himself down when he drilled at Wiland from 12 yards after he had been chopped down by Thomas Delaney.

City produce stunning UCL fightback

Manchester City produced a stunning comeback to beat defending champions Bayern Munich 3-2 in the Champions League match at the Allianz Arena.

454920949

Manchester City came back from 2-0 down to pull off a remarkable 3-2 victory at Bayern Munich, but it was not quite enough to see the Blues leapfrog their hosts into top spot in Champions League Group D.
Both sides had already qualified for the knockout stage before this match, which was their concluding Group D fixture, and for second-placed City to overhaul defending champions Bayern and secure first position, it required them to win here with a better scoreline than 3-1 – that by which the German outfit beat them at the Etihad Stadium.
It appeared an unlikely prospect before and a virtual impossibility soon after kick-off as Bayern ripped through a helpless-looking City defence and raced into a 2-0 lead, with Thomas Muller striking in the fifth minute and Mario Gotze in the 12th.
Three minutes later the visitors had to substitute Micah Richards for Pablo Zabaleta, but their fortunes improved considerably from there as the game went on.
Having steadied the ship, City hit back through David Silva’s close-range finish in the 28th minute and they then scored two second-half goals in quick succession to complete an incredible turnaround, with Aleksandar Kolarov converting a 59th-minute penalty before James Milner’s cool finish three minutes later.
And while it was ultimately not sufficient for the Blues to take top spot, they have certainly made a statement about their credentials ahead of the next phase.
Boss Manuel Pellegrini had made it clear pre-match that, at the very least, he wanted a considerable improvement from City on their display in the initial meeting, in which they were completely outplayed by Bayern for much of the contest.
It looked in the early stages as if the Blues were set for an even more chastening experience but overall City delivered the kind of thing their manager had been looking for – and they might have even scored a further goal that would have sent them top if Manuel Neuer had not been alert to stop substitute Alvaro Negredo late on.
Pellegrini had also admitted in the build-up to the match that he was preparing for it with Saturday’s Barclays Premier League home clash against table-toppers Arsenal also in mind, and his team selection reflected that.
The Blues’ first XI showed seven changes from last weekend’s draw at Southampton, with Joe Hart, Richards, Joleon Lescott, Javi Garcia, Jesus Navas, Edin Dzeko and the fit-again Silva being brought into it and the likes of Vincent Kompany, Zabaleta, Sergio Aguero, Negredo and Samir Nasri dropping out – the first four to the bench – as well as the suspended Yaya Toure.
For Bayern, meanwhile, there were just two alterations from their 7-0 win at Werder Bremen, and their potency was soon evident.
Hart, making only his second appearance in 10 City games, had already endured a nervy moment due to a miscued attempted backpass from Lescott when Muller put Bayern 1-0 up.
The forward chested down a lofted delivery from Dante, got the better of City’s skipper-for-the-night Kolarov and fired past the England goalkeeper.
Hart got down to save a Dante header four minutes later, and then diverted the ball, struck by Franck Ribery, against the post, but it was not long before he was beaten again as Bayern kept up the heat.
City made a hash of trying to deal with a corner and the ball ricocheted via Mario Mandzukic’s shot to the feet of Gotze, who converted from six yards out.
Richards limped off for Zabaleta soon after and there was further Bayern pressure to weather, with Ribery’s shot being blocked and Hart denying Toni Kroos.
But then Fernandinho fired off-target at the other end and with City having settled down, Silva – back after six games out due to a calf problem – hooked in to make it 2-1, connecting with a Milner header from Navas’ cross.
Navas put the ball into the side-netting within moments and it was a fairly even contest for the rest of the first half, although there were a couple of warnings from the hosts, with Hart having to come out to keep Gotze at bay and City’s ex-Bayern man Martin Demichelis getting in the way of a Muller shot.
City made a solid opening to the second half and after Dzeko had called Neuer into action, Dante brought down Milner in the area and the penalty was awarded.
Kolarov made no mistake from the spot and then City were in front as Milner swept in a Navas cross which former Blues defender Jerome Boateng attempted to hack away but completely missed.
City kept pushing and sloppiness from Dante allowed Negredo the opportunity to make it 4-2 with 11 minutes to go, but Neuer saved.

Juve to meet Gala again

The reorganised Champions League match between Galatasaray and Juventus has been pushed back to a 1300GMT kick-off after a severe hailstorm.

454921151

The Italian champions needed to avoid defeat at the Turk Telecom Arena on Tuesday night to book second place in Group B and progression to the knockout stages, while a Galatasaray victory would have seen Roberto Mancini’s men safely through to the last 16 alongside pool winners Real Madrid.
Snow and hail began to seriously affect play after about 20 minutes and the game was ultimately suspended in the 33rd minute following discussions between UEFA delegates, Pedro Proenca’s refereeing team and both sets of players.
A statement published on the official UEFA Champions League Twitter account read: “The #UCL fixture between @GalatasaraySK & @juventusfc has been abandoned after a snow storm caused the pitch to become unplayable.
“According to article 11.04 of the competition regulations, the remaining match time must be played either tomorrow or on a reserve date or other date set by the UEFA administration.”
A further UEFA update confirmed the fixture would resume on Wednesday afternoon at 1300CET (1200GMT) but that time was later revised to 1400CET (1300GMT) following discussions with Turkish police.
Juventus had enjoyed the better chances of the interrupted clash in Turkey and Fernando Llorente missed a gilt-edged chance to put the Serie A side ahead in the 16th minute.
At the end of a swift counter-attack, the Spanish striker found himself in a good position in the Galatasaray box to control Arturo Vidal’s cross before flicking it just wide of a post.
Former Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo had earlier tested goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon from distance while Selcuk Inan sent a free-kick wide of the visitors’ goal before the snow began to fall.
Groundsmen attempted to clear snow from the lines marking the pitch but the weather showed no sign of abating and brought an early end to proceedings.
Gala were level on four points with FC Copenhagen going into Tuesday night’s fixtures but have a better goal difference against the Danes, who lost 2-0 at home to already-qualified Real Madrid in the other group game.

Coach Hoang Van Phuc applied 4-1-4-1 formation when arranged Thanh Hien at position to intercept. Van Quyet, Van Thang, Manh Dung and Vu Minh Tuan play besides Ha Minh Tuan. The Thanh Hoa province- born player is replaced vi Tien Thanh because of injury. Tien Thanh- Manh Hung cooperates successfully together with Quang Hung- Ngoc Duc in the left wing. Goalkeeper Buu Ngoc is quite leisure when U-23 Brunei only has 5 shoots within 90 minutes.

Van Quyet has played his role well to encourage the whole team. He respectively cooperate with Ngoc Duc Manh Dung in two wings, with Van Thang, Vu Minh Tuan in 16m50 area. Van Quyet though hasn’t scored, the Ha Noi T&T’s striker is the key to U-23 Viet Nam’s 7-0 win over Brunei. Besides that, Hong Quan, Vu Minh Tuan, Phi Son, Manh Dung and Ha Minh Tuan also played well in the first match.

Quang Hung – Tien Thanh

Facing a weaker opponent, the red’s defense still showed unorderly especially in the left wing’s Quang Thanh and mid fielder Tien Thanh who replaced Thanh Hao. These positions are the weakest points of Viet Nam. Therefore, when facing U-23 Singapore, U-23 Malaysia or U-23 Laos Vietnamese team is thought to meet difficulties.

U23 Việt Nam ăn mừng bàn thắng

U-23 Viet nam is cheerful with goals

In a few minute of first half, U-23 Viet Nam played cautiously to know opponents. Tien Thanh couldn’t show his role of mid-fielder. Quang Hung played well his role to support attacking with Quyet-Dung-Tuan-Thang or Ngoc, Son, Thien, Hung. However Quang Hung wasn’t able to return timely when play highly.
