U-23 Viet Nam: Progressive attack opposite to unstable defence

After the training course at Hungary, U-23 Viet Nam gradually defines main members for the official squad and the most important thing is that there is a noticeable progress in attack after each win.

Before this training trip to Europe, Coach Hoang Van Phuc said that he would use all players that aimed to choose the excellent members for U-23 Viet Nam. After 3 games against Testverieg SE, REAC Sportiskola and U-21 REAC Sportiskola, U-23 Viet Nam step by step defines its main members especially in the attack when center midfielder Minh Tuan, wide midfielder Manh Dung and especially the captain Van Quyet have received Hoang Van Phuc’s trust in set fire for the attack. For the striker position, two players Mac Hong Quan and Ha Minh Tuan, U-23 Viet Nam can be confident in a good attack.

The formation 4-5-1 with 1 highest striker receiving support from creative and skillful midfielders is hoped to play effectively when Coach Hoang Van Phuc’s strikers scored through big 4-1  win over Testveriseg SE, especially, the stunned U21 REAC Sportiskola with 6-0.

While the attack plays strongly, U23 Viet Nam still lacks of  stability at defence. Most of defenders are not in stable form, which is illustrated by being hold by REAC Sportiskola though we had lead 2-0. Moreover, Coach Hoang Van Phuc is worried about the position of defensive midfielder Hoang Thinh who has got knee- injury. Thinh has experienced in V-League for 4 year, it is understandable that why he is the prior choice for back of U23 Viet Nam. His absence from squad left a big hole the back of Hoang Van Phuc’s formation.

Dani Alves confirms Abidal liver gesture

The Brazil full-back says he would have done anything to help his former team-mate as he struggled with health problems.

164431_heroa

Dani Alves has confirmed he offered to donate parts of his liver to Eric Abidal during the Monaco star’s battle with cancer.

The pair formed a firm friendship while they played alongside one another at Barcelona and Abidal recently revealed that the Brazilian had made the ultimate gesture of offering to sacrifice a portion of the organ to help get him back to full health.

In an interview with Lance, Alves has revealed he did indeed make the offer to the Frenchman and insists the welfare of his former team-mate was more important than potentially putting his own football career at risk.

The 30-year-old said: “My desire was only to help, because of the admiration I have for Eric, for the love I have for his family. When a life is at stake, the game remains in the background.

“Clearly there was a risk. It’s not quite true thatI would have to leave football for the donation. There was a risk, but when a life is at stake, football is not important.”

“From God I have the strength and intelligence to have alternatives and can live even without football. If I had to do that (donate part of his liver) to save a life, God would open other doors.”

Abidal’s cousin Gerard came to the defender’s rescue by donating part of his liver in April 2012, but the Frenchman wasn’t offered a new deal by Barcelona after returning to full fitness at the end of last season.

However, several clubs across Europe made a move for his services, with the 30-year-old eventually deciding to join Monaco on a free transfer earlier this summer.

Vidic: Manchester United will bounce back

The centre-back admitted David Moyes’ charges played poorly in the “horrible” loss to Manchester City, but is confident the squad and manager will make amends against Liverpool.

211869_heroa

Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has described the 4-1 loss to Manchester City as “horrible”, but promises the Premier League champions will make amends.

A Sergio Aguero double and goals from Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri condemned David Moyes to defeat in his first Manchester derby, but the defender is keen not to lay the blame at the Scot’s door.

“It is horrible to lose the derby game,” Vidic told Sky Sports. “It hurts. Trust me, no one will want to remember this. “It doesn’t matter whether we are losing or winning you will always go back to that question. Is the manager good? Are the players good?

“I am not looking at it that way at all. This is a club that has a history. This is a club that has players who have won so many titles and the players are all national team players. There is so much experience.

“This loss has hurt but the most important thing the new manager and the old manager said was that you have to bounce back and win the next game.”

Vidic partnered Rio Ferdinand at the heart of defence for third match in a row, the first time they have enjoyed a similar run in the first team for nine years, and the Serbian has admitted the team struggled from the off.

“We cannot be sad and feel sorry for ourselves,” he continued. “We cannot afford to do that. We have to stay true and improve certain things and then win.

“From the first minute they tried to be aggressive. They had more possession and we didn’t really get in the game from the first minute. This is what we have to learn.”

Nasri revels in Manchester derby revenge

The Frenchman netted City’s final goal in a 4-1 drubbing of Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, having been vilified in last season’s corresponding fixture.

320190_heroa

Samir Nasri admits Manchester City’s 4-1 victory over bitter rivals Manchester United on Sunday was driven by a burning desire for revenge.

Two goals from Sergio Aguero and strikes from Yaya Toure and Nasri did the damage for Manuel Pellegrini’s men at the Etihad Stadium, though Wayne Rooney grabbed a late consolation.

The result was a far cry from last year’s corresponding fixture, which saw Robin van Persie netting a late free kick winner for United and Nasri castigated by his own fans for seemingly ducking out of the wall.

“It’s a different feeling from last year, and a different feeling for me as well,” he told reporters.

“Last year I was involved in the third goal in a bad way, so this was a little revenge. I just want to share this moment with our fans.

“Last year was a little bit sad because we were losing 2-0 and came back, but in the last minute Robin scored that free kick.

“This year it was not the same scenario, and we are very happy.

“It was a big statement. We have sent a message to our rivals that this year we can be a force. To win like that is always special.

“We showed what good players we have in our team because we put in a very good performance.”

City’s victory moves them up to third in the Premier League behind Totteham and Arsenal, and Nasri believes his side are well poised this early in the season.

“It was important to win this game, for ourselves as well as for the fans, because Arsenal won as well, and moved to 12 points,” he added.

“We won our first game in Champions League, which gave us confidence and we have trained really well. When you arrive at the game you have confidence, because you know what you can do.

“It was exactly that kind of game. We played our own kind of game, and won 4-1.

“At Stoke it was difficult because we came back from being with our national teams for ten days, and had players who had travelled all over the world, so when you come back you are not really fresh.

“But the win in Plzen made us really confident, and we did exactly what we had prepared for in the week.”

There’s not a €50m difference between Bale & Ozil, says Lehmann

The 43-year-old admits Arsenal paid too much for the Germany international but says the market was influenced by Real Madrid ‘losing the plot’ over their move for the Welshman.

320326_heroa

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann insists there is not a €50 million difference between Mesut Ozil and Gareth Bale.

The Wales international’s world-record £86m move from Tottenham in the summer transfer window paved the way for Ozil’s switch to Arsene Wenger’s side in a £42m deal.

Lehmann believes Arsenal’s acquisition of the German midfielder represents better value and says the Spanish club’s inflated prices dictate the high transfer fees paid elsewhere.

“In all honesty, Arsenal paid too much for Mesut Ozil, but that’s because Gareth Bale went to Real Madrid for so much more money. Nobody is worth that much,” Lehmann told Spox.

“The Ozil deal was much better. I don’t see a €50m difference between the two players. That’s how that market works when a club like Real Madrid loses the plot.”

Ozil already has four assists in the Premier League this season, and had a hand in all three of Arsenal’s goals against Stoke as the Gunners climbed to the top of the table.

After Drawing in 120 minutes, U-19 Viet Nam accepted 6-7 defeat against U-19 Indonesia and claimed the silver medals.

U 19 Viet Nam’s sadness

Being strong against pressure from tens of thousands Indonesian audiences on stands, the white created many sharp attacks toward U-19 Indonesia. Unfortunately, Coach Grachen’s men could not realise those opportunities into real goals. However, with nice short pass Viet Nam received applauses from stands.

In 28th minute, Cong Phuong cut the ball to Thanh Tung, however his shoot found the goal keeper Mundiato’s position. 10 minutes later, Cong Phuong consecutively scored twice but there was no goal for Viet Nam. Entering the second half, U 19 Viet Nam’s soft playing style suffered many aggressive fights for ball. As statistics, there are 5 players of  U-19 Viet Nam had to leave the pitch in the second half.

U-19 Indonesian aggressive playing style adding with problems of physics caused Viet Nam players continuously in the situation of playing with less player than opponent which because of collisions. The point is that, the Thai referee didn’t whistle U-19 Indonesia.

Drawing after 90 official minutes and 30 minutes of extra time, at the penalty shoot out, U-19 Indonesia defeated Viet Nam 7-6 to claim the champion title. Though Viet Nam leaded opponents 2-1, Viet Nam’s psychology was so weak. Nevertheless, what the young players had showed off this year, Viet Nam football fans can hope for a bright future of Viet Nam football. In the remained game for 3rd ranking, Timor Leste won 4-2 over Laos. Beside the silver medals, Viet Nam received fair-play award.

Arsenal 3-1 Stoke City: Ozil sets up Gunners treble

The former Real Madrid man played a part in all three of the home side’s goals as Mark Hughes’ charges failed to deal with set-pieces, with Geoff Cameron netting for the Potters.

320098hp2

The Germany international had a hand in all three of his side’s goals on his home debut as Arsene Wenger’s men eased to a comfortable win that sent them top of the Premier League ahead of Sunday’slate fixtures.

Ozil’s free kick was parried into the path of Aaron Ramsey to score a fifth-minute opener, before Geoff Cameron cancelled that out for Stoke.

Per Mertesacker put Arsenal back in front at the break, with Ozil supplying the assist, before the £42 million playmaker was on hand again to supply the third for Bacary Sagna to head home his first goal since February 2012 with 18 minutes left.

The only change for the hosts came just prior to the match, with Serge Gnabry called up as a late replacement for Theo Walcott, who was laid low with illness.

Mikel Arteta and Nicklas Bendtner both made their first appearances of the season on the bench. For the visitors, Marko Arnautovic made his first start for the club in place of Matthew Etherington.

Arsenal had won their last six in all competitions going into the clash and they were ahead within five minutes through Ramsey.

Ozil’s free kick was parried away by Asmir Begovic and Ramsey followed up to finish at the near post and claim his fourth goal in three games.

Stoke responded well, and they were level through Cameron after 26 minutes, with the American coolly slotting home from outside the area.

Arnautovic saw his volleyed effort come back off the post, with the defender latching onto the rebound to put his side level.

Parity lasted just 10 minutes, though, and as Arsenal pressed forward, they were rewarded once again with the lead when Mertesacker put them back in front nine minutes before the break with his first goal of the season.

Ozil was the architect again as he swung in a corner and Germany international Mertesacker headed towards the far post, with the ball creeping in despite the efforts of the scrambling Begovic.

Olivier Giroud forced an impressive save from Begovic seven minutes after the break, following good work from Gnabry, before the French striker curled an effort over from inside the area soon afterwards.

Marc Wilson then had a sight on goal for Stoke just after the hour mark, but Wojciech Szczesny was equal to it and the Pole was soon required again, gathering a dangerous delivery from Steven N’Zonzi as the visitors applied pressure.

However, Arsenal went two goals clear courtesy of another header after 72 minutes, with Sagna getting his name on the scoresheet as he met another Ozil delivery and looped his header over Begovic and into the far corner.

Ozil was withdrawn to a standing ovation after 79 minutes, with Arteta on in his place, as Arsenal closed out the game to move top of the table.

Blue the colour of victory in Manchester derby

Manchester City secured a thumping 4-1 win over arch-rivals Manchester United with Sergio Aguero starring with a brace at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City v Manchester United - Premier League

United suffered their worst defeat at the Etihad Stadium since 2004 as Manchester City ran riot.
Sergio Aguero scored twice, and Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri added further goals, with Wayne Rooney grabbing a consolation in a 4-1 triumph for City manager Manuel Pellegrini in his first Manchester derby.
For United boss David Moyes it was a desperate day, an echo of a 5-1 defeat suffered by Sir Alex Ferguson at Maine Road in 1989 before his trophy-gathering had begun.
Ferguson missed this debacle, having flown to the United States on holiday on Friday. He would have found little to enjoy.
United’s defending was awful and their midfield – including £27.5million new arrival Marouane Fellaini – ineffective, with Rooney’s late effort doing little to paper over the cracks.
The loss was made more painful for the Red Devils by the knowledge of how bad they had been without their talisman, Robin van Persie, who was ruled out with a groin injury.
Van Persie’s absence had increased a sense of foreboding among the United contingent, which, in fairness, their City counterparts also felt prior to kick-off. The tension was understandable given the early teething troubles both clubs had faced under their new management.
As it turned out, the visitors were right to fret.
Two days after Moyes had claimed Rooney had gone soft, he got the snaring England forward, ill at ease with the world, challenging every decision that went against him, of which there were a few.
By the time he took Vincent Kompany down from behind, referee Howard Webb had no alternative but to brandish a yellow card in Rooney’s face, which did little to improve his mood.
Moyes was not happy on the touchline either, although by the time five minutes of the second half had elapsed the Scot had far more to occupy his mind than debatable refereeing calls.
With his team staring down the barrel of a possible rout even worse than the 6-1 hammering handed out to a team reduced to 10 men at Old Trafford in October 2011, Moyes was facing a crisis.
There was little excuse either.
Apart from a crisp opening 10 minutes, United were comprehensively outplayed by their neighbours, who made them pay for a sterile midfield display and truly awful defending.
One-time United target Samir Nasri was having one of his good days.
And when the Frenchman held the ball up intelligently on the side of the area and waited for Aleksandar Kolarov to charge forward on the overlap, Antonio Valencia failed to track him.
The Serbian’s cross was perfect for Aguero, whose first time finish gave David de Gea no chance for the 16th-minute opener.
It was the third game in five Aguero had found the net against United. He was not done – and neither were City.
With Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic picked to start alongside each other for the third time in a week, for the first time since 2010, the veteran pair found themselves facing the impossible task of stemming a tide of attacks with their cover disintegrating.
When Alvaro Negredo climbed highest to reach Nasri’s corner in the final minute of the opening period, Toure drifted away from Fellaini and touched the ball home with his knee from barely a yard.
It left Moyes needing to deliver some kind of half-time wake-up call.
But if the Scot thought about producing a hairdryer blast from the Sir Alex Ferguson school of management, he forgot to plug it in.
For those first five minutes after the re-start brought two more City goals.
And yet again, United’s defenders were staring at themselves wondering where everyone had gone.
Kolarov’s pass sent Negredo to the byline and his chip to the far post provided Aguero with the easiest of finishes as Patrice Evra and Vidic were again caught out of position.
Then, on City’s next attack, after United had lost possession deep inside their opponents’ half, Navas drove down the right to the byline before crossing to the far post, where Nasri supplied the first-time finish.
Immediately minds wandered back to United’s Old Trafford nightmare of two years ago.
Yet the more obvious comparison was that dismal day at Maine Road nearly a quarter of a century ago, before Ferguson had even won a trophy.
That result is now just a footnote in United history.
For this to be the same for Moyes, the response will have to be pretty special.
Rooney did pull one back near the end, his strike making him the all-time leading scorer in Manchester derby games with 11 goals, although by then City had eased off.
Home fans singing “There’s only one David Moyes” and “Sacked in the morning” underlined the new order in Manchester now.

Llorente wins it for Juve on debut

Fernando Llorente scored the winner on his full debut as Juventus came from behind to beat promoted Hellas Verona 2-1 in Turin.

Juventus v Hellas Verona FC - Serie A

The Gialloblu arrived as giant-killers having beaten AC Milan on the opening day of the Serie A season but reigning champions Juve failed to heed the warning and conceded an opportunistic goal from Fabrizio Cacciatore.
Carlos Tevez responded emphatically with a fiercely-struck equaliser and Llorente, making his bow at the Juventus Stadium, completed the turnaround with a header deep into first-half stoppage time.
The victory offered reason to be cheerful to Juventus after a disappointing week which saw the Bianconeri held to 1-1 draws by both Inter Milan and FC Copenhagen, while Verona could take heart from a plucky performance that enhanced their reputation as the newcomers mostly likely to prosper.
Perhaps in a defiant response to reports he had been dissatisfied with Llorente’s pre-season performances following his free transfer from Athletic Bilbao, Juve coach Antonio Conte handed the Spaniard a first start of the new season.
For most of the first half, though, it looked like he would be upstaged by fellow summer signing Tevez, as the dynamic Argentinian relentlessly terrorised the Verona box.
He tried his luck from distance before Leonardo Bonucci fed Llorente in the area, Rafael rushing out to block.
After Hellas enjoyed a good chance through Daniele Cacia, Tevez steamed up the other end to rifle a fierce strike at Rafael. The Brazilian received a cut to his chin in the tussle that followed and play was briefly suspended.
The Brazilian keeper was back on his feet to deny Paul Pogba a free header and, on 25 minutes, he watched Tevez twist and drive an effort just over his crossbar.
Tevez came knocking once again after exchanging swift passes with Arturo Vidal but after Rafael made the save, Verona raced up the other end to score.
With the Juve backline distracted, Vangelis Moras’ header snuck through to Cacciatore in the six-yard box and he tucked home without any fuss.
The Bianconeri response was immediate and clinical as Tevez waited just two minutes to seize on Bonucci’s through-ball and rocket a shot just under the bar.
Verona were reeling and, three minutes into time added on, Llorente opened his account for the Italian champions with a headed finish from Vidal’s cross.
The visitors put their heads together over the break and came out strongly, Jorginho quickly finding himself in a shooting position, where he was denied by Bonucci.
Juve pushed back and had Rafael sprawling to parry an Andrea Pirlo free-kick in the 64th minute.
The bar saved Verona moments later, though, as Pogba’s shot on the turn caught the keeper unawares.
But try as they might, the Bianconeri could not find a third goal to finish their opponents off but Sebastian Giovinco – a late substitute for Tevez – looked particularly dangerous around the box to keep Rafael sweating until the very end.

No Bale, no problem for Real Madrid

Real Madrid made light of Gareth Bale’s absence to cruise past Getafe 4-1.

Real Madrid CF v Getafe CF - La Liga

Bale was denied a home debut after injuring a thigh muscle in the pre-match warm-up having initially been named in the starting XI.
After consulting with the medical team, Bale was replaced by Isco and played no part in the game.
Madrid fell behind to a deflected goal by Angel Lafita after five minutes, but Pepe equalised a quarter of an hour later.
Cristiano Ronaldo then put Madrid ahead from the penalty spot before Isco extended Madrid’s advantage with a goal in the second half.
Getafe midfielder Michel, who had given away the penalty, was sent off for a second bookable offence with eight minutes remaining and then in the final minute of stoppage time Ronaldo added his second goal of the night, his 208th for
Los Blancos, which meant he unseated former Mexico striker Hugo Sanchez as the club’s fifth top goalscorer of all time.
Ronaldo had a shot cleared off the line by Sergio Escudero in the early stages, and then Getafe shocked the Bernabeu by taking the lead.
Ronaldo was dispossessed in the middle of the Madrid half, he thought unfairly, and Lafita ran towards goal and took an early shot, which deflected off Pepe and past Diego Lopez.
The Madrid players were furious, but referee David Fernandez Borbalan allowed the goal to stand.
Madrid drew level from a set piece. Angel Di Maria launched the ball into the box and Ronaldo shot at Miguel Angel Moya from close range, the ball then falling at the feet of Pepe, who bundled it over the line.
Just two minutes later Di Maria sent in another free-kick, which Ronaldo volleyed well wide of goal, but his blushes were saved by the offside flag.
Di Maria tried his luck on goal from 30 yards out and had Moya in a panic but the goalkeeper was able to save the shot and gather at the second attempt.
Madrid were then awarded a penalty, again as the result of a free-kick, this time from Ronaldo, which was blocked by the arm of Michel in the Getafe wall. The Portuguese forward stepped up to take the spot-kick and slammed the ball into the bottom corner to score his sixth goal of the season in all competitions and his 12th against Getafe.
Pepe squandered a chance to extend Madrid’s lead, heading over from a corner, while Karim Benzema squandered a simple opportunity to net the third, getting little power on his shot from a few yards out, and allowing Moya to scramble across his line and palm the ball away.
The France striker did not have the best of matches, and later missed two opportunities to score with his head.
He was replaced by Alvaro Morata with 11 minutes remaining and left the pitch to a mixed chorus of whistles and applause from the crowd.
Madrid were in full control in the second half. Ronaldo forced a save from Moya just after the break, and then Isco scored the third goal, cutting inside from the left wing to curl the ball into the far corner with his right foot and record his fifth goal for Madrid.
Michel was then given his marching orders for bringing down Ronaldo.
Despite scoring the penalty, Ronaldo was far from his brilliant best and wasted several opportunities to score again, but finally got his milestone goal with virtually the last kick of the game, converting a low cross with a backheel finish into the bottom corner.
It was the former Manchester United man’s fifth goal in a week, coming exactly seven days after he signed a new five-year contract with Madrid.
The result means Carlo Ancelotti’s side moved up to third in the Primera Division, behind Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, who have maintained 100 per cent starts to the season.
