The Real Madrid shot stopper’s representative, Manolo Garcia-Quilon, is adamant that his client will not be leaving the club despite the imminent arrival of Keylor Navas

Diego Lopez’s agent, Manolo Garcia-Quilon, has stressed that the goalkeeper has no interest in leaving Real Madrid this summer.

Los Blancos have moved to strengthen their goalkeeping department, agreeing to meet the €10 million release fee for Levante’s Keylor Navas after his impressive displays for Costa Rica in this summer’s World Cup.

Though the transfer seems to put the futures of Madrid shot-stoppers Lopez and Iker Casillas under threat, Garcia-Quilon assured reporters that there was no desire on the part of his client to play elsewhere.

“Diego is going nowhere else,” the player’s representative told Marca.

“He wants to be the main keeper at Real Madrid and he’s going to work harder than ever for that. He’s going to put all his ability at the service of the club.”

The 32-year-old, who played 36 times in La Liga last term, returned to the Bernabeu in January 2013 after leaving for Villarreal five years previously and his agent has dismissed rumours linking him with a move away again, namely to Napoli.

“Napoli haven’t even asked about him,” he added.

“He’s going to convince the coaching team here once more that he is the Real Madrid goalkeeper.”
