Everton manager Roberto Martinez believes his side have the quality to challenge for the top four this season ahead of their clash with West Brom on Monday.
The Toffees have made a solid start to the Premier League campaign, winning two and drawing three of their first six games, with their only defeat so far coming away to Manchester City.
Martinez has come close to breaking into the coveted Champions League places before and the Spaniard believes the fierce competition in the English top flight this season could see somebody gatecrash the top four.
“I think it’ll be such a close season,” the former Wigan boss told the Daily Mirror.
“You look at the points West Ham have got away from home and Crystal Palace’s form.
“There are many teams who are going to take a lot of points from the so-called top four. That makes me think 70 points will get you into the top positions.
“But we can aspire to get better and that means we don’t need to rely on other teams. We rely on good we can be and how quickly we can get to that level.”Source Foxsports
