Paris Saint-Germain defender Maxwell has hinted it may be he last season with the Ligue 1 champions as his current deal will expire at the end of the campaign.

The Brazilian has enjoyed five seasons as Les Parisiens’ first-choice left-back since his transfer from Barcelona in 2012, but concedes it may be time to move on, as he looks set to win the Ligue 1 title for the fourth consecutive season.

“It is maybe the moment to leave for a new adventure. I will enjoy up until the end of the season and then we will see what happens. I have not yet decided,” the 34-year old told Téléfoot.

After the midweek win over Chelsea, the French giants progressed to the quarter-finals on the Champions League for the fourth season in a row, a feat Maxwell is proud of, but he’s hopeful they can avoid Barca in the next round.

“We are happy to be the quarter finals [of the Champions League]. It is not appreciated like it should be in France.To get there four times in a row, that is not easy,” he said.

“We want to go all the way. Avoiding Barcelona in the next round? Yes because they have a lot of quality. If things go as they did against Chelsea, we will see if we can achieve something new.”
