The Viet Nam national women’s futsal team defeated Malaysia 9-2 in a friendly match during their training session in Malaysia.

Nguyen Thi Thanh opened the score for the visitors, but the hosts scored quickly to lead by 2 to 1. Before the interval, Viet Nam scored five more goals to raise the score to 6-2.
After the break, the hosts attacked to level the score, but failed, while the visitors bagged three more goals.
The two teams will play again today, Sept 18.
Viet Nam aim to win a semi-final spot at the coming 2015 AFC Women’s Futsal Championship that will be held in Nilai, Malaysia, from September 21 to 26.
Viet Nam are in Group B with Japan, mainland China and Thailand. Group A consists of Iran, Malaysia, Uzbekistan and China’s Hong Kong.
Germany-VN friendly football match
The German Consulate General in HCM City will hold for the first time a mini football championship titled “Potato-Rice-Cup” on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Germany-Viet Nam diplomatic relations.
The match, to take place at 9.30 am on Saturday (September 19), will be held at Arsenal Football Grounds in District 2. It will include five teams, members of the German consulate general, staff from German enterprises, two teams of staff from Viet Nam media, and one from VietinBank.
