Vietnam has been placed to play in an easy group with Philippines and Indonesia and the qualifying round runners-up.

Group A

In the evening of August 5th,drawing ceremony of AFF Cup 2014 happened in Ha Noi. Vietnam and Singapore were drawn to play in group A and B. According to rule, two hosting team will play in group with one team of first group ( Philippines and Malaysia), and one team of second group ( Indonesia and Thailand) and the winner and qualifying runners-up.

First and second group are divided based on last AFF Cup’s result. Malaysia lead with 20 points, Philippines with 18 points. The second one include Indonesia ( 17 points) and Thailand ( 16 points). Vietnam is placed to play in group A. Group B includes Singapore and Thailand, Malaysia and the winner of qualifying round.

Group A is supposed to be easier than group B which includes the present champion Singapore. Moreover, Thailand and Malaysia are also tough.

The qualifying round of AFF Cup 2014 will happen from October 12th to 20th October 2014. It composes 5 teams Myanmar, Laos. Cambodia, Brunei and Timor Leste. Team will compete in round robin format  with two top-placed teams entering the semi-finals. The final round is co-hosted by Vietnam and Singapore.
