An Giang secured the first ticket to the finals of the Thanh Nien Newspaper U-21 National Football Championships for the Clear Men Cup after defeating Binh Dinh 1-0 in a semifinal on Thursday.

“An Giang footballers have a strong will and no one can prevent us from reaching the final,” Coach Tran Ngoc Thai Tuan had said ahead of the match at Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City.
Binh Dinh coach Phan Ton Quyen’s hopes of an upset disappeared when his players played well but finished poorly.
In the 23rd minute Lai Bao Huu scored for An Giang when goalkeeper Minh Hoang missed the ball.
Binh Dinh attacked intensely in the second half but An Giang goalkeeper Ngoc Tuan blocked all goal attempts.
In the other semifinal, Hanoi T&T play Ho Chi Minh City at 3:30 p.m. Friday (October 30). The loser will play Binh Dinh for third place.
