Viet Nam jumped a place from last month to 152nd in the September FIFA rankings.
The national team beat Chinese Taipei 2-1 in the second round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2019 AFC Asian Cup joint-qualifiers on September 8 to edge up the rankings.
Viet Nam are third in the Southeast Asian region, behind the Philippines (No 125) and Thailand (No 137).
Argentina top the table, followed by Belgium and Germany.
