In the afternoon of october 20th, the Ho Chi Minh Student Football tournament 2013 was opened at Thong Nhat stadium. This tournament belongs to the program of HCMC student sports movement which is cooperated to held by Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, universitarian and professional sports and Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union – Ho Chi Minh City Committee.

This tournament will be taken place from 20th to October 30th at Thong Nhat stadium, Phu Nhuan, Dat Duc and Dist.8 pitch. 19 teams from universities, colleagues, Technical secondary schools in Ho Chi Minh City will be divided into 6 groups.

Group A composes Ho Chi Minh City Medicine and Pharmacy University, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City, University of Finance and Marketing, Thu Duc College of Technology.

Group B includes: Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Broadcasting college II.

Group C includes: Ho Chi Minh University of Physical Education and Sports, Ton Duc Thang University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry.

Group D composes Hong Bang international University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry, General secondary school.

Group E includes: Banking University Ho Chi Minh City, Rmit University, Constructing college II.

Group F includes: Ho Chi Minh City Technical Training University, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Saigon Technology University.

The results in the opening day: Group A:  University of Finance and Marketing wins 6-4 over  Ho Chi Minh City Medicine and Pharmacy University. Group B: Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology has defeated Broadcasting college II 10-2.
