- U-19 Viet Nam in tough group of AFC U-19 Football tournament 201414:49 | 25/04/2014
Vietnam has drawn into a tough group which includes the Republic of Korea, Japan and China in Asian Football Confederation U19 championships 2014.
The drawing ceremony has happened in Myanmar in the evening of April 4th. 16 teams are divided into 4 groups. Though they have had won first standing in qualifying, Vietnam only stood in top four squad with Indonesia, Oman and Yemen. Top one includes host Myanmar, Republic of Korea, Iraq, Uzbekistan. Top two includes Australia, Japan, Iran and Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. And the remained one, top three includes UAE, Thailand, China and Qatar. Having drawn, Vietnam has to face with the strong opponents: Korea, Japan and China.
Republic of Korea though has lost 2-3 against Indonesia, they are considered as candidates for champions. Because they have won this title for 12 times. Japan is the one who has defeated Vietnam 7-0 in U-19 international football championships 2014. China has hold Japan in qualifying.
This is a real challenge for U-19 Vietnam if they desire to get in top 4 of AFC U-19 championships. U-19 Vietnam has ended their training trip in Europe, they have played against European teams in which they had won 2 matches, drawn 3 matches and lost 7 ones. U-19 Vietnam is expected to have another training trip in Japan before AFC U-19 champs which will take place from October 9th to October 20th 2014 in Myanmar.The last four teams will be Asian representatives at the world U-20 Football championships.

Group A: Myanmar, Iran, Thailand,Yemen.
Group B: Uzbekistan, Australia, UAE, Indonesia.
Group C: Republic of Korea, Japan, China, Vietnam.
Group D: Iraq, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Qatar and OmanTruc Phuong
