On June 6th, AIMAG Women’s Futsal continued with matches of group A and B after a day break. In group B, two parallel matches Viet Nam vs Malaysia and Hong Kong ( China) vs Thailand had ended with the same result 6-1 win for both Viet Nam and Thailand.

Malaysia was estimated as the weakest opponents though they had grown up much from 2009 Indoor Games. At that time, Malaysia lost Viet Nam 1-7. Therefore this game would have had a higher score if our women hadn’t wasted many chances.

During 1/2 time of the first half, the game was fairly equal to two, however no one created any clear chance. From the half , Viet Nam started to put pressure under Malaysia when Viet Nam forced them to resist consecutive chances. Nguyen Thi Thanh (11)  had missed 3 chances in 14th, 17th and 19th minute. Finally, Ngoc Hoa (3) scored consively from Pham Thi Hue(14)’s pass to open 1-0 for Viet Nam. 

Entering second half, game was total for Viet Nam when we decided to play pressing and preventing opponents from attacking. In 25th minutes, Thu Hien passed Nguyen Thi Chau (7) to finish the 2-0 for Viet Nam. 2 minutes later, Bui Thi An ( 4) passed Pham Thi Hue( 14) to score 3-0. In 30th minute, though Malaysia had turned to power play, they got two more scores by Nguyen Thi Thanh. However, Malaysia had an honor score in 37th minute. Pham Thi Hue (14)’s goal in 39th minute set the final result of the game. Viet Nam had missed many chances before including 4 penalties. with this 6-1 win, Viet Nam rose to the third position of group B with 6 points ( difference goals is 9-7), Thailand had the same 6 points, but they had more goal difference (10-3) therefore Thailand is holding the 2nd position. Iran is defined a ticket to the semi finals, Thailand will also go through to semi final if they get at least a draw against Malaysia, this means Viet Nam is mostly out.

In group B ( 4 teams), Indonesia has created a surprising result  when they and Japan get to semifinals because of their wins over China and Uzbekistan though they was underestimated in 26th Seagames. Therefore, To gaining the highest result in 27th Seagames, Viet Nam women’s Futsal team had to prepare well so that Viet Nam could pass strongest opponents in region such as Myanmar, the present champions of Seagames Thailand and Indonesia.
