    Round 2 of V.League 2019 has ended with different surprises and unexpected incidents. Here are top 5 highlights of the round chosen by The Thao TP.HCM newspaper.

     

    1/ The eye-catching Viettel-Thanh Hoa match

    Back home after the 1-3 defeat against Danang, Viettel had a great change in the game with Thanh Hoa on Hang Day stadium at round 2 of V.League 2019.

    This might be the most impressive game to audiences after 2 rounds as both 2 teams performed an open attack-attack style on one of the most beautiful pitches in Vietnam.

    And finally, the new warriors of V.League got their first win by defeating opponents 2-1. The victory of Viettel reappeared the image of a glorious The Cong football club in the past, making the club’s fans at Hang Day stadium so excited.

    2/ Hanoi suddenly got a draw

    Hanoi was showing their outstanding level at V.League as the team of coach Chu Dinh Nghiem scored up to 15 goals in 2 games at V.League and AFC Cup with no goal conceded. In the first game at V.League, the club of tycoon Hien had a perfect performance by the 5-0 win over Quang Ninh.

    However, at round 2, Quang Nam caused an interesting surprise by making the strong team from the capital accept the 1-1 draw.

    The one scorer of Quang Nam at the 50th minute, either the player of the match was captain Dinh Thanh Trung. Until the 85th minute, Hoang Vu Samson shined by equalizing for the reigning champions Hanoi FC.

    3/HCMC FC surprisingly reached the top

    Playing away in Pleiku was predicted to be tough for the team from the city under the name of Uncle Ho. The home team had a high performance with the convincing 4-1 win over Khanh Hoa in the first round.

    However, coach Chung Hae Song’s players had a appropriate performance as the Korean coach understands well tycoon Duc’s Hoang Anh Gia Lai, the team he used to train in 2018 season. The 2-1 victory over Hoang Anh Gia Lai was once again strongly impressed by Mr.Chung Hae Song.

    As a result, HCMC FC rose to the first position after 2 rounds. It was clearly that this achievement came from their professional play style with specific tricks.

    4/ No happiness at Cua Ong stadium

    The bad playing surface of Cua Ong stadium smashed the match between host Quang Ninh and Song Lam Nghe An into smithereens. The 0-0 draw truly reflected characteristics of the game – boring, less professional and there were also unfortunate injuries of the 2 teams.

    Quang Ninh’s mid defender Duong Thanh Hao had to leave the pitch after just 20 minutes as he got injured by the crash with his teammate. The serious injury then made his be hospitalized in emergency.

    Either in the first half, forward Ho Tuan Tai of Song Lam Nghe An, in one of his rare appearances in the starting lineup, had to be sent off soon as his knee got a problem after an effort to gain the ball.

    Bad luck continued to come to Song Lam Nghe An as in the second half, Nguyen Manh’s wrist was hurt after burdening a shoot from Nghiem Xuan Tu. It was fortunate that he could still play until the end of the match. According to the latest diagnosis, both Tuan Tai and Nguyen Manh have to be off in the round 3 when Song Lam Nghe An receive Binh Duong on March 7th.

    5/ The unjustly red card of Hoang Lam and referee issue

    Mid defender Hoang Lam of Hoang Anh Gia Lai had to receive an unjustly red card in the match against HCMC FC. The camera slow motion showed that Hoang Lam did not touch Matias of HCMC. However, the act showing hurt of Matias deceived the main referee, leading to the red card.
