Saigon FC have lengthened their unbeaten run in V-League 2020 after the bold 3-0 win over Nam Định in round 10 in the evening of July 18th by a rare attacking style, through which maintaining its top position in the ranking.

The present performance of Saigon FC is surprising as they have been undefeated since the beginning of the season until round 10 of V-League with 6 wins and 4 draws. This football club have just beaten Nam Định at Thống Nhất stadium in the evening of July 18 to continue to lead the league with 4 points clear.

Receiving Nam Định, Saigon FC surprisingly played in an open way, actively attacked instead of counter-attacking, and played solidly like in previous games. Right at the 34th second, Quốc Phương opened up the score for the hosts with a finish near the goal after a convenient pass from Geovane. In this situation, Saigon FC had a very good attack, defeating the defending line of Nam Định which was offering an offside trap.

The early goal made the hosts confident, while the guesses were confused. Until the 28th minute, Nam Định had their first dangerous chance thanks to the effort of Đỗ Merlo who rapidly took control of the ball from the opponents’ goalkeeper. Unfortunately, the striker directed the ball out of the goal in front of the empty goal as the shooting corner was too narrow.

Saigon FC had a response at the moment after this situation. At the 33rd minute, Geovane lifted the score to 2-0 thanks to his clever handling and his strong shot from out of the box. Four defenders of Nam Định got close to him but they could not prevent the goal.

Quốc Phương marked his radiant day by his second goal at the beginning of the second half, lifting the score to 3-0. This mid-fielder unruffled lobbed the ball over the head of goalkeeper Đinh Xuân Việt to end a very sharp attack.

As conceding 3 goals, Nam Định lifted their formation with the intention to seek for goals and a thin chance to get at least 1 point back. But at this time, Saigon FC proved that they were performing the best counter-attack style in V-League by causing dangers to opponents and conserving their win.

Saigon FC ended 90 minutes against Nam Định with an impressive performance, through which maintaining undefeated in this season. In the next round, they just face the bottom team Quảng Nam, thus, it is much possible that they will continue their unbeaten run. If they can protect this advantage after the first stage, the football team whose their chairman is either their coach can win the V-League title for the first time.

On the other side, Nam Định are ranked 3rd from the bottom after 10 rounds and they need to make more efforts in order to avoid relegation. The next opponents of them are Becamex Bình Dương who receive high evaluation.
