In the afternoon of January 12, football fans in Hồ Chí Minh City had an occasion to exchange with former famous footballer Luis Garcia – one of Liverpool’s leading strikers – as well as witness a version of UEFA Champions League trophy.

Liverpool is one of leading teams in the Premier League and possessing a crowded number of fans in Vietnam. Thus, presenting in the exchange in the afternoon of January 12 in HCMC, former Liverpool forward showed his interest by sharing: “First arriving in Vietnam, I am so surprised when seeing such a crowded number of Liverpool fans in Vietnam. It’s so great!”.

The friendly and nice appearance of Luis Garcia at the exchange session left the fans a strong impression. Beside exchanging by answering questions from the fans, the former famous footballer who scored more than 100 goals in his career also spent more than one hour to sign and take photos with Vietnamese fans.

Luis Garcia shared: “I have not actually seen any game of Vietnamese football, but I had found about the football background of your country before I came here. I was known that Vietnam football has been seeing major improvements and is now leading Southeast Asia area. Especially, Vietnam national team are playing well in World Cup 2022 qualification. I hope Vietnam will be qualified for World Cup final round in a near future”.

Beside the exchange with Liverpool’s former striker, HCMC fans one more time witnessed a version of the UEFA Champions League trophy in the session.
