In chains of event to celebrate April 30th and May 1st, Ho Chi Minh former players club has cooperated with Ho Chi Minh football federation ( HFF) to hold veteran tournament which is divided into three terms: over 40 ( 40-45), 46-50 and over 51.

This year, there are 12 teams in Ho Chi Minh City which include more than 300 former players, and they will compete from April 8th at three places: Group A and B will play at Tao Dan dist.1 pitch: Truong Giang club ( Binh Tan district), Gia An book store ( Tan Binh district),  profession club ( district 1). Group B: Le Minh Xuan ( Binh Chanh district), Galang club ( district 8), Thu Duc club, Ai Huu club ( district 1). Remained teams Fanclub’s Fc ( district 10), Ha Noi Phuong Nam ( Tan Binh district), Ngoc Lan restaurant ( district 1) and HCMC Police Club  will play in group C at Cay Sop pitch ( district 12).

The candidate for champion is HCMC police club because they had won the highest title twice: 2012 and 2013. Though it’s just an amateurish tournament, players are famous former players therefore this tournament is promised to be exciting.

This year, tournament receives support from district 1 sport center, Cay Sop pitch. Moreover, Ho Chi Minh football federation also supply a qualified referee team for it. Thus, it ‘s the most important tournament to former players association.

In the opening game between representatives of district 4 and Binh Tan district, Truong Giang club ( Binh Tan district) has excellently defeat opponent 3- 0.Besides that, game between profession club and Gia An bookstore, profession club has won 10-1 over opponent because of excellence of Dang Tran Chinh, Thanh Tung, Quang Huy, Minh Lep, Tran Phuc,…

In the second day of tournament ( April 9th) in group C, the fanclub’s FC district 10 has won 4-2 over Ha Noi Phuong Nam club. HCMC police club also won 5-1 over Ngoc Lan restaurant.
