Unigames is the starting step of Vietnam University Games (VUG) qualifying in HCMC which is held from April 6th to April 14th, at Tan Binh Gymnasium. For more than a week, there are 10 universities in HCM City who will join in qualifying with 3 kinds of sport: basketball, indoor soccer and free antagonistic dance. 

Both basketball and antagonistic dance exam were thrilling and exciting from the first round. However, Their attractions aren’t as strong as the king of sports. In football, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology has demonstrated his remarkable strength through win. In the first game between the industrial university of Ho Chi Minh City and RMIT Viet Nam though having been high evaluated, industrial university of HCMC was beaten 0-1. Ho Chi Minh university of Technology has won their first 3 points after 4-2 win over Sai Gon University. By good preparation Hong Bang University also won convincing ly 5-0 over Ton Duc Thang. In the final match of the first competition day Hoa Sen University failed 0-1 over Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

In the second day, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Hong Bang University continued to show their strength with second consecutive win against two opponents Hoa Sen University and RMIT International University. After the first failure Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh city tried to win 4-2 over the Sai Gon University. The remained battle between Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Ton Duc Thang University was ended with 3-0 win for the former.

The qualifying in Hanoi had also taken place excitingly, there were 6 teams chosen into final: the best prizes of basketball belonged to University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City, Foreign Trade University, the best prizes of Indoor soccer (Futsal) respectively belonged to University of transport and communication and Thang Long University.In free antagonistic dance Foreign Trade University and second Thang Long University.

About awards in qualifying of Ho Chi Minh VUG: the first prizes include gold medals, flags, certificates and 15 million VND. The runners will be rewarded silver medal, flags, certificates and 10 million.the third grade prizes include bronze medals, flags, certificates and 5 million. There are two spiritual rewards for teams with 20 million of each.
